Knowledge Exchange Wales is delighted to return after our summer break with details of the first of our autumn series of seminars.
Our next event is on Tuesday 28th September and is entitled ‘Understanding Nordic Innovation Excellence’. As usual this is a breakfast seminar in the Village Hotel, Swansea starting at 08:30 until 10:30. This event is focused on learning about successful innovation techniques and real business examples from the leading Nordic countries.
Within the European context, Scandinavia is considered the benchmark as the leading region in respect to R&D and innovation. The European Innovation Scoreboard developed by the European Commission, which provides a comparative assessment of the innovation performance of the EU27 member states, rates Denmark, Finland, Germany and Sweden as the innovation leaders, all with innovation performance well above the European average and all other countries. We are delighted to have a representative from the Stockholm Science City Foundation to talk to talk to us about how universities, business and the community can work together to drive regional growth and innovation. The mission of Stockholm Science City Foundation is to attract academia and business within the Life Sciences sector to Stockholm Life, a dedicated Life Science area in Stockholm.
We also aim to secure a speaker from a successful Scandinavian business to tell their story about success through innovation; this will be confirmed nearer to the event.
